The African Network of Researchers in Learning, Innovation and Competence Building Systems (AfricaLics) is the premier Pan-African platform advancing research, policy, and practice in innovation and competence-building systems. Since its establishment in 2012, AfricaLics has served as a hub where academics, policymakers, industry leaders, development agencies, and innovators collaborate to explore how innovation drives inclusive and sustainable development across the continent.
Every two years, AfricaLics convenes its flagship International Conference, a high-profile knowledge exchange platform that attracts leading innovation and development experts from more than 65 countries. Previous conferences held in Maputo, Kigali, Oran, and Dar es Salaam have become continental milestones in shaping innovation policy and practice.
In 2026, Johannesburg, South Africa will host the 7th AfricaLics International Conference, drawing around 200 delegates from academia, government, industry, and international development. The three-day programme will feature:
- World-class keynote speakers addressing Africa's most pressing innovation challenges.
- High-level policy dialogues linking research and evidence to development strategies.
- Cutting-edge research sessions featuring leading and emerging African scholars.
- Networking and knowledge-sharing events, including a Welcome Cocktail and Conference Dinner.
Your support will directly enable knowledge exchange, research capacity-building, and policy dialogue that strengthen Africa's innovation systems, while positioning your brand as a key player in advancing inclusive, evidence-based development across Africa.
